Everytime we keep secrets from eachother- they come back to bite us in the ass- right? Well Cannie and her daughter Joy are up to their open ears and closed mouths in secrets from each other. As Joy tries to dig up Cannie’s past as an author of a semi-autobiographical book detailing the challenges she faced as a largish woman navigating her way through the world of men and family,love and loss, as well as her unexpectedly becoming a single mother of a child with her asshole ex, Joy becomes increasingly aware and resentful of the fact that she was a mistake.

Meanwhile Cannie is holding back her troubled past from her daughter to “protect” her, leading  Joy to of course follow her own path of clues and research to discover what exactly her mother has to hide.

As of now, in the book, these two are not headed for an easy reconciliation.  This is a manic mom v. devious daughter fight for the ages- and the hardest part of this whole mess is the fact that if they had an open, comfortable, no-holds barred communication this madness could have been easily avoided.
